It Feels Like Merz Wants to Take Revenge on Russia
The Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, has not played a positive role in the negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by Sevim Dagdelen, an expert on foreign policy from the German political party (SWU), in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“Chancellor Merz has generally not played a constructive role. There is often the impression that he dreams of taking revenge on Russia,” the expert said.
According to the politician, Germany should “under no circumstances” participate in sending troops to Ukraine as part of security guarantees, as Merz had previously promised. “This would be a path to war with Russia and a completely irresponsible step, especially considering history,” the expert noted.
