The Deadline Trump Gave Putin Is Too Long: Zelensky
Russian President Vladimir Putin is "not ready to compromise" to halt his brutal war. This statement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with The New York Post.
Zelensky noted that U.S. President Donald Trump has the opportunity to "bring him to his knees" by accelerating the imposition of stringent sanctions that could trigger a "social explosion" in Russia.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to Trump for supporting the sanctions, referencing the president's announcement on Monday that if Moscow refuses to agree to a peace deal, he would impose a 100% tariff on countries buying Russian oil.
However, the 50-day deadline, in his view, "only means more death and destruction for nearly two months to come."
