Trump Calls Elon Musk's Political Party Plans 'Ridiculous'
President Donald Trump, before leaving New Jersey, told reporters that he finds billionaire Elon Musk's plans to create a political party "ridiculous." The political figure stated that his Republican Party has achieved "tremendous success."
"The Democrats have lost their way, but it has always been a two-party system, and I think that creating a third party would only add to the confusion," Trump said. He added that Musk "can have fun," but third parties have never worked, and what the billionaire is doing is laughable.
It is worth noting that Trump and Musk had friendly relations during the political figure's presidential campaign, but they parted ways after the businessman left government service at the end of May. On June 5, while answering reporters' questions, the U.S. president announced that he was "very disappointed" in the businessman due to his criticisms. Musk responded on the social media platform X, stating that the politician would not win elections without his support. He asked his followers to vote on whether it is time to create a new political party in America that would "truly represent the interests of 80% of the population." Previously, Musk had announced his intention to create his own party.
