Most Immigrants in Russia Unable to Pass Russian Language Exam
One third of immigrants in Russia are unable to pass the Russian language exam on their first attempt, and nearly half fail to pass even subsequent attempts. This information was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
As per the new law in Russia, testing for knowledge of the Russian language has begun as of April 1, 2025, for immigrant children wishing to enroll in schools.
On December 11, the State Duma adopted a bill in its second and third readings that prohibits the enrollment of immigrant children who do not speak Russian in schools.
