Deputy Foreign Minister on Possible Escalation

Armenia is undertaking diplomatic actions on the ground to prevent further escalations. This was stated today in Goris by Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan, in response to a question about whether the Armenian side sees a risk of escalation.

"The gunfire definitely does not help the overall situation, especially considering that Armenia is aimed at normalizing relations with Azerbaijan," the deputy foreign minister noted.

It is worth mentioning that for over two months, Azerbaijani forces have been firing towards the border villages of Syunik, targeting residential homes as well.
