Audi Halts Car Exports to the US
The German automaker Audi has suspended car deliveries to the United States due to the implementation of US tariffs, as reported by Spiegel, citing a company representative.
“As of April 2, all vehicles arriving in the United States must be held and will not be delivered to dealers,” Spiegel writes.
The automaker has advised dealers to focus on reducing their inventory. Audi currently has more than 37,000 vehicles in the US that will not be affected by the new tariffs and can therefore be sold,” said an Audi spokesperson. According to him, this will be sufficient for about two months.
As clarified by the publication, Audi does not have production facilities in the US; all vehicles must be imported. The best-selling Audi Q5 in the US is produced at a factory in Mexico, while other models are manufactured in Germany, Hungary, and Slovakia.
