The Doors are 'Open' for Armenia: Putin's Assistant
Russia respects Armenia's independent course, which has halted its active participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Nevertheless, Yerevan continues to be a member of the organization, and the doors for all CSTO events are 'open' for it. This was stated by Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of Russia, during a press briefing.
"We do not question our Armenian partners' right to independently decide their path," said the diplomat. "De jure, Yerevan remains a full-fledged member of the CSTO and thereby retains all corresponding rights and obligations," he added.
"The doors for Armenia's physical return to work within the CSTO are open, and we hope that sooner or later, representatives of Armenia will resume cooperation within this organization," Ushakov concluded.
