Ukraine Lacks Sufficient Forces to Reach 1991 Borders, Says Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky admitted in an interview with Fox News that Ukraine does not have sufficient forces to reach its 1991 borders. This was reported by TASS.
According to him, Kyiv has no legitimate aim of conceding lost territories, but acknowledges the impossibility of reaching the former borders. “We understand that at this moment we do not have enough strength to push back... (the Russian Federation) to the 1991 line,” he said.
During the conversation, Zelensky also referred to the Crimean Peninsula, recalling Kyiv’s willingness to “return Crimea through diplomatic means” while expressing doubt that the Ukrainian armed forces would be able to retake the peninsula by force.
