Azerbaijan Again Issues Accusations: French Ambassador Summoned to Foreign Ministry
On November 20, 2024, the French Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ann Bouillon, was summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. Local media report that during the meeting, the Azerbaijani side protested against France's attempts to disrupt the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-29), which is being held in Baku under Azerbaijan's presidency.
Azerbaijan also accused France of undermining the peace process with Armenia. "Paris is actively arming Yerevan, encouraging militarism and revanchism, which undermines efforts to normalize relations between the two countries. We demand that France cease actions directed against Azerbaijan that jeopardize the resolution process," the statement said.
As previously reported, on November 19, Azerbaijan's Ambassador Leyla Abdullayeva was summoned to the French Foreign Ministry due to "unacceptable statements made by Azerbaijani authorities against France and Europeans" during COP-29.
