Arab League Agrees to Take Action at the UN to Freeze Israel's Membership
The Arab League will take measures to freeze Israel's membership in the United Nations. This decision was reached by participants of the second Arab-Islamic extraordinary summit held in Riyadh, as stated by Ahmed Abul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, during a press conference following the summit.
"The quickest way to protect the Palestinians is through decisions by the UN Security Council. The document adopted at the end of the summit includes 36 points, which pertain to joint actions by Arab and Muslim countries to achieve the freezing of Israel's membership at the UN," said Abul Gheit.
The second Arab-Islamic summit regarding the situation in Gaza and Lebanon took place in Saudi Arabia this past Monday, attended by leaders and representatives from 50 countries.
