Warning and Appeal from the Ministry of Internal Affairs
From September 10 to 11, the Ministry of Internal Affairs received 11 reports from citizens regarding incidents where relatives were allegedly involved in accidents, demanding money for medical assistance for the victims and to exempt the perpetrator from criminal liability. According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Narek Sargsyan, three of these cases involved the transfer of a total of $16,700.
“Once again, we warn and urge you—do not trust information received from strangers to avoid becoming a victim of fraud; verify its authenticity,” Sargsyan wrote on his Facebook page.
