The Issue of the Minsk Group May Be Considered in the Context of a Peace Treaty, Says Armenian Foreign Ministry
Azerbaijan has demanded amendments to Armenia's Constitution for the signing and preliminary signing of a peace agreement, and the joint dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group. Aliyev also stated that Armenia does not agree to the dissolution of the Minsk Group.
Specifically, “Liberty” inquired with the Foreign Ministry whether Azerbaijan is making the dissolution of the Minsk Group a prerequisite for signing a peace treaty, why Yerevan disagrees with the dissolution, and whether it is possible for Armenia to change its mind and jointly submit an application for dissolution to the OSCE with Baku in the near future.
The official Yerevan responded to “Liberty's” inquiry stating that the Armenian Foreign Ministry can consider the continuation of the Minsk process primarily in the context of signing a peace treaty.
