Denmark's Ministry of Defense Requests Tanks from Military Museums

The Danish Ministry of Defense has requested tanks from military museums to begin training Ukrainian tank crews. The tanks in question are the outdated Leopard 1A5.

It is noteworthy that back in February, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands pledged to transfer a total of 100 German-made tanks to Ukraine. The first 10 tanks have already been delivered to the Ukrainian armed forces.

The Leopard 1A5 tanks were part of the Danish army's arsenal until 2005. In 1997, Denmark purchased 51 Leopard 2A4 tanks, while the older Leopard 1A5s were phased out.

Several Leopard 1A5 tanks have also been donated to children's tank museums. Three of these cultural centers have provided six armored vehicles to the Danish armed forces for training purposes.

Danish instructors are responsible for the initial training of the Ukrainians, after which their education will continue in Germany.
