Video: Pensioner Steals Relics of Saint Nicholas from Church in Russia, Claims She Wants to Pray at Home
A pensioner has stolen the relics of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker from the Church of John the Baptist in Kirovsky, Leningrad Oblast. This was reported on August 31 by a source from "Izvestia." The incident occurred the day before.
According to reports from Telegram channels, local clergy stated that the theft appeared to be not just a random act but a well-planned operation. "A woman wearing glasses and a headscarf stepped out of a gray luxury vehicle. When the relics were removed, the woman prayed, crossed herself, and then took the relics, got into the car, and drove away," they noted.
It was later revealed that the woman who stole the church relics is a pensioner. She explained her actions by saying she wanted to pray at home.
