Explosive Ordnance Disposal Operations to Be Conducted in the Askeran Region

Explosive ordnance disposal operations will be conducted in the Askeran region throughout the day. This was announced by the State Emergency Service of the Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Mine clearance teams from the State Emergency Service, the Humanitarian Demining Center Foundation, and The Halo Trust will carry out these operations at various times on August 11 in the territories of the Aygestan and Ivanyan communities of the Askeran region.

The unexploded ordnance posing a danger to life was found in areas adjacent to residential communities during the military operations of 2020, particularly during the shelling of Artsakh by Azerbaijan. To date, the deminers continue to conduct reconnaissance and, if necessary, destruction operations within the territory of the Republic.
