Julfalakyan Causes Public TV Journalist to Lose Opportunity to Host Own Program: 'Hraparak'
'Hraparak' newspaper reports: 'Public TV commentator Petros Ghazaryan stated during an interview with MPA candidate Edgar Ghazaryan that supposedly, 'the Prime Minister has no authority to dismiss anyone from the first channel...'. Formally, this may be true, however, the traditions criticized so much by the opposition during the term of Prime Minister Pashinyan still continue at Public TV today, where individuals are dismissed for inviting 'wrong guests', and there exists a blacklist of 'persona non grata' individuals, namely opposition figures.
For example, at the end of the year, former MP of the Civil Contract party Arsen Julfalakyan was invited to the program 'De-politicize', but the program's author and host Anush Muradyan was deprived of the opportunity to host her created show. We were informed that calls were made from above, urging that Muradyan should not continue hosting the program. It is noteworthy that Julfalakyan addressed Ghazaryan's statement yesterday and indirectly confirmed our information, reminding Petros Ghazaryan of several stories, including: 'I could recall a more recent episode, the program that aired on Public TV in December 2022, in which I participated... I maintain that in all instances there have been calls from the ruling elite of the CPI,' wrote Julfalakyan.'
