«We are as involved as our Armenian and Azerbaijani friends are interested»: Lavrov

Russia is fully supporting the process of signing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview with RIA Novosti, responding to a question about whether Russia expects Armenia and Azerbaijan to sign a peace treaty in the coming months and if the status of Nagorno-Karabakh will be included in it.

“This question would be more logical to address to the negotiating parties, that is, to Yerevan and Baku. They are the ones who set the dynamics of the communication and determine the content of the future peace treaty. Russia, which is connected to both Armenia and Azerbaijan through strategic partnerships and allied relations, is doing everything to support this process in the manner and volume in which our Armenian and Azerbaijani friends are interested,” Lavrov said.
