The Armenian Prosecutor's Office Tried to Arrest Yuri Khachaturyan's Son: 'Zhoghovurd'

The Deputy Prosecutor General of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, has attempted to arrest the son of former CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturyan.

This information has been reported by the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd'. On October 25, the Deputy Prosecutor General filed a request with the Court of Cassation, demanding that the court arrest Khachaturyan's son. However, the Court of Cassation rejected the newly appointed deputy prosecutor's appeal.

It is worth noting that on May 17, Igor Khachaturyan was arrested during an opposition-led disobedience protest on Kievan Street and later imprisoned. He was charged under Article 316, Part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code (violence against a representative of authority).

Two months after his detention, on July 11, Igor Khachaturyan was released on bail of 1 million drams. Currently, court hearings regarding his case are ongoing.
