Negotiations with Ukraine Have Essentially Been Halted, Says Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin has informed Finnish President Sauli Niinistö that negotiations with Ukraine have essentially been halted. This information was reported by the Kremlin's press service.
During their conversation, Putin discussed the negotiation process between representatives of Russia and Ukraine. “Kyiv is not demonstrating interest in serious and constructive dialogue,” said the Russian president.
Putin and Niinistö exchanged views on Finland’s intention to apply for NATO membership as announced by the Finnish leadership. The Russian president emphasized that abandoning the traditional policy of military neutrality would be a mistake, as nothing threatens Finland's security.
This kind of change in the country’s foreign policy could negatively impact Russian-Finnish relations, which have been built on the spirit of friendship and partnership for years, characterized by mutual benefit.
