Azerbaijan on Normalizing Relations Between Turkey and Armenia: Bayramov's Statement
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has presented Azerbaijan's approaches regarding the delimitation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. As reported by Armenpress, this information is conveyed by Azerbaijani media.
“Baku and Yerevan should start the border delimitation process without preconditions. Determining the borders is one of the key issues on the agenda. Azerbaijan and Armenia have not even begun the delimitation process for almost 30 years since gaining independence. This is not normal,” Bayramov stated at a press conference dedicated to the results of the year.
“The new situation and new realities have created an opportunity for a civilized solution to the border issue, and Azerbaijan has repeatedly called for work in this direction. The document following the meeting in Sochi on November 26 reflects the necessity to start this for the first time; this was also voiced back in May of this year, and the Azerbaijani side agreed to create a working group in response. However, subsequently, Armenia has put forward certain initiatives that were unacceptable for Azerbaijan,” he said.
Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan is ready to begin the delimitation with Armenia.
