On December 7, National Assembly member from the Civil Contract party, Armen Khachatryan, was invited to the National Security Service (NSS) to provide clarification regarding an incident of scuffles that occurred in the parliament. This was reported by ArmLur.am.
The news outlet notes that Khachatryan provided his explanation and did not file any complaints against anyone. The NSS also took clarifications from the parliament member Hrachya Hakobyan and other legislators.
It is worth mentioning that the NSS also invited the assistant of the opposition faction's member, Tadevos Avetisyan, Geryasim Vardanyan, to give an explanation. It has become known that he refused to provide any explanation.
Additionally, the assistants of Ishkhan Saghatelyan and Armenuhie Kyureghyan, Sevak Nazaryan and Taron Nazaryan, respectively, also provided explanations to the NSS.
Recall that a brawl had occurred in the National Assembly on September 7, where three assistants to opposition members had attempted to settle scores with those in power. Currently, preparations are ongoing at the NSS regarding the incident. The NSS is expected to make a decision today on whether to initiate a criminal case or reject the initiation of a criminal case. As of now, there has been no decision from the NSS.
