Mirzoyan and Lavrov Speak: What Did They Discuss?
On November 24, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a phone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that the two ministers discussed issues related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. They emphasized the importance of a lasting and comprehensive resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through peaceful negotiations, under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship.
During the conversation, Ararat Mirzoyan presented the situation created as a result of the recent aggression by Azerbaijan's Armed Forces against Armenia's territorial integrity and sovereignty. The Armenian Foreign Minister highlighted the significance of Armenian-Russian allied relations in the context of efforts to establish stability in the region.
Mirzoyan and Lavrov also discussed the implementation of the commitments undertaken by the parties as outlined in the trilateral statements of November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021.
