Varanda (Fizuli) Airport Receives International Status
Varanda (Fizuli) Airport has received international status. This was reported by Azerbaijani media, citing a statement from the country’s national airline, AZAL.
It was reported that the International Air Transport Association has assigned a special three-letter code, FZL, to Varanda (Fizuli) Airport, which was also previously confirmed by the International Civil Aviation Organization.
As noted by the Turan agency, the airport, built to international high standards, “can accommodate any type of aircraft” and is now “open for international flights.”
According to official sources in Azerbaijan, new international airports will also be built in the Zangilan and Lachin regions under the president's directive.
In addition to Varanda (Fizuli), there are six other international airports in Azerbaijan, located in Baku, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Gabala, Lankaran, and Zagatala.
