"Israelis are Along the Entire Border with Azerbaijan," Says Iran's Border Guard Chief
Iranian senior officials continue to accuse Azerbaijan of harboring Israeli military presence along the Iran-Azerbaijan border. This time, the head of Iran's border guard, General Ahmad Ali Goodarzi, has made such allegations.
The general stated that Israelis are stationed along the border with Azerbaijan, although the exact number of troops remains unknown. "The Israelis know that Iran's deterrence power is such that they do not have operational forces near our borders. They can only provoke countries in the region to change borders, block the movement of trucks, and raise their entry fees," Azerbaijani media quoted the Iranian general.
He added that among all the countries in the region, the Israelis are most active in Azerbaijan.
This is not the first time Iranian high-ranking officials have accused Azerbaijan of allowing Israel to deploy forces near the Iranian border. Similar accusations have been made by the Iranian Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry, as well as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
