Ishkhan Saghatelyan Sent for 'Reconnaissance': 'Hraparak'
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports: 'The largest parliamentary opposition, the 'Armenia' alliance, is also preparing for a hot autumn and local government elections. Following discussions within the alliance, it has been decided that the coordination of local government elections will be entrusted to Ishkhan Saghatelyan, the deputy speaker of the National Assembly from the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF).
The alliance has tasked him with making regional trips, meeting with party activists and supporters, and gauging the mood among them. In simpler terms, he is to conduct 'reconnaissance,' after which they will discuss and decide where to run and whom to nominate. We have learned from the alliance that they will participate in local government elections not with the ARF's lists but with those of the alliance.
Two days ago, Saghatelyan was in the Shirak region, and in the coming days, he will visit other regions as well. As for the mayoral candidate for Gyumri, this has not yet been decided; it is not ruled out that one of the heads of the Gyumri headquarters of the alliance will be nominated.'
