Thovmasyan: I Heard Nothing About Upper Shorja in Pashinyan's Speech, Which Means Azerbaijani Forces Will Continue to Stay in Armenian Territory

MP Taguhi Thovmasyan made a post on her Facebook page, addressing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's proposal to Azerbaijan and the international community during the Security Council meeting. The proposal suggests that the military units of Armenia and Azerbaijan withdraw from the Sotk-Khoznavar border area, and instead, observers are stationed along the border line, followed by the clarification of border posts.

She specifically noted that there was nothing mentioned by Nikol Pashinyan about the Upper Shorja border section, meaning that Azerbaijani forces who have invaded that area will continue to remain in Armenian territory.

“I listened carefully to the Prime Minister's words, and I want to understand what is implied by the term ‘initial positions.’ Where is the initial position and from where are we expected to retreat while expecting the same from Azerbaijan? There is a mention of the Sotk-Khoznavar communities, and I have the impression that we are automatically conceding Armenian territories kilometer by kilometer,” Thovmasyan wrote. “In the Prime Minister's speech, I heard nothing about the Upper Shorja border area in Gegharkunik Province, which means that Azerbaijani forces who have invaded there will continue to stay in Armenian territory.”
