Forces Excluding Pashinyan Are Also Excluded: Marukyan
The leader of the opposition Bright Armenia faction, Edmon Marukyan, spoke today at a press conference about a potential memorandum that could be signed between opposition parties. The signing parties would commit to not forming a coalition with Pashinyan after returning to parliament.
Marukyan stated that this is an idea from the Bright Armenia party. They were the first group to declare that they would not form a coalition with Nikol Pashinyan and Robert Kocharyan. “Now the forces that want to make Robert Kocharyan prime minister are saying, ‘Let’s sign to exclude Nikol Pashinyan.’ Let them also sign that they will not bring back any former leader of Armenia,” he noted.
Marukyan emphasized that this is not a new concept, advising others to come up with fresh ideas: “We continue to assert what we have previously said. Those forces that wish to exclude Nikol Pashinyan should understand that they too are excluded; a revolution has taken place against them. People have taken to the streets to remove them, and this is not a trivial issue. If they think they can return, that is absurd.”
