Murder Occurs in Gyumri: 1 Dead, 2 Injured
A murder has just occurred in the Shirak province. Around 15:20, the police received a report stating that a body was found in the yard of building 10/2 in the Mush 2 neighborhood of Gyumri.
Police and investigators arrived at the scene and discovered the body of 37-year-old Rafik Mnatsakanyan. According to initial data provided by the forensic doctor, there are multiple stab wounds on the body.
In connection with the incident, a special investigation team has been established by the head of the regional investigative department, A. Isahakyan, and a criminal case has been initiated under Article 104, Part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code (murder).
The police and investigative department are taking necessary operational and investigative actions to uncover the crime, identify the perpetrator, and find the murder weapon.
According to G. Shamshyan's information, two other individuals with bodily injuries have been taken to the hospital from the scene. The suspect of the murder is being sought; he is reported to be a brother of a senior operative officer of the Mush police division who died in a tragic car accident on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway, 59 km in, on the same day as the murder. The deceased was a taxi driver who was transporting the operative officer to Yerevan on the day of the accident.
