Son Buries Father in Russia, Unaware He Is Alive
A resident of the Omsk region in the Russian Federation has been detained on suspicion of murdering his 80-year-old father. According to preliminary reports by RIA Novosti, the 54-year-old suspect struck the elderly man on the head with a hammer and subsequently buried him alive in a garden.
It is noted that, according to the investigation, on February 13 in the village of Ozerka in the Isilkulsky district of Omsk region, the 80-year-old father asked his son to drink alcohol but was refused. The father and son argued, during which the son hit the elder man several times with the hammer. Believing his father was dead, the son wrapped his body in a blanket, transported it to the garden, and buried it.
After the incident, he informed relatives that his father had died, which raised their concerns. They subsequently reported the case to the police.
A forensic examination has revealed that the man's death was not caused by the hammer blows but rather by hypothermia (a decrease in body temperature).
