Contracted Serviceman Dies Suddenly: Ministry of Defense
On February 8, at approximately 12:40 PM, a contracted serviceman, Private Edward Karlen Kirakosyan (born in 1994, from the Tavush Military Unit), died suddenly at a guard post of one of the military units located in the northeastern direction of Armenia. An investigation is underway.
The Ministry of Defense of Armenia expresses its condolences to the parents, relatives, and colleagues of Edward Kirakosyan.
The operational situation along the entire length of the Armenian-Azerbaijan border remained unchanged on February 8 and 9, and no border incidents were reported.
According to information provided by the National Security Service of Armenia, no border incidents were recorded in areas under the responsibility of the National Security Service’s border troops, particularly in the section of the Goris-Kapan interstate highway from Vorotan to David Bek.
The armed forces of Armenia and the border troops of the NSS continue to monitor the border situation along the entire border area.
