If You Think You Gave Up Artsakh to Live Well, You Are Seriously Mistaken: Suren Sargsyan

International expert Suren Sargsyan has published a photo of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page, accompanied by a post:

“If you think you gave up Artsakh to live well, you are seriously mistaken. I believe this man has always been convinced that Armenia cannot have a future as long as the Nagorno-Karabakh issue exists. In his opinion, the only solution to the Artsakh problem is to hand it over to Azerbaijan. He thinks that 'If there is Artsakh, there is a problem; if there is no Artsakh, there is no problem.' He believes that if the Karabakh issue is resolved, peace will be established in the region, the Armenian-Turkish and Armenian-Azerbaijani borders will open, and we will become Switzerland. He truly believes in this.

There is no understanding that: 1. The Artsakh issue is not resolved. 2. The idea that peace will be established in the region through the defeat of Armenians is delusional (just as peace was not established through Azerbaijan's defeat). 3. The hopes that the region will prosper are unrealistic. 4. The complexity of the region is not only due to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. 5. It is conditioned by Turkish-Russian antagonism, US/Israel-Iran antagonism, complex Russian-Georgian relations, and so on. 6. The reconciliation or normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations is not a matter of the visible future. 7. The reconciliation or normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations is a matter for an invisible future. They are confident that Armenians will one day strive to return to Artsakh. Naturally, we will continue to be viewed as enemies by them. If you think you gave up Artsakh to live well, you are seriously mistaken.”
