One Person Arrested for Illegally Crossing the State Border of Armenia: NSS
The National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia reports that one individual has been arrested for illegally crossing the state border of the Republic of Armenia, with a criminal case initiated.
According to reports from Armenpress, the NSS was approached for clarification regarding an incident where an Azerbaijani national was found in the border village of Berdavan in Tavush province during the night of December 9-10. NSS personnel subsequently detained the individual.
The NSS clarified the following: “This individual illegally crossed the protected state border of the Republic of Armenia. Operational data was received on the situation, and as a result of search operations, this person was located, a criminal case has been initiated, and they hold the status of a suspect and have been arrested.”
No further details were provided by the NSS due to the secrecy of the investigation.
