Syunik Deputy Governor Denies Reports of Land Cessions Near Aravus Village
The Deputy Governor of Syunik, Narek Babayan, has denied reports suggesting that the Armenian side has ceded land to the Azerbaijani side in the region near Aravus village. Babayan made this statement in an interview with Armenpress.
“On December 6, we met with the Azerbaijani side along with the corps commander to discuss the borders. Some areas have been adjusted, but they are located within the administrative territory of Lachin. Not even a meter of land has been ceded from the administrative territory of Syunik or from the state border of Armenia,” Babayan said.
He added that the Aravus self-defense group had returned from the administrative territory of Lachin back to the Armenian state border.
