Hotel in Washington D.C. Shelled Where Russian Journalists Were Staying
A hotel in Washington D.C., where a crew from the Russian NTV television channel was staying, came under fire late on Tuesday night. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
RIA Novosti reporters at the scene found shattered glass with a bullet hole approximately 1 cm in diameter and numerous cracks on the ground floor of the Holiday Inn, along with glass shards scattered in the lobby and outside on the street.
“I was writing a story when I heard noises, shots being fired. From my experience in hot spots, I can differentiate them. I then went downstairs, but the entrance was closed off by the police. The officers have not provided any explanations. A hotel employee mentioned that there had been a shooting,” said Veselevski.
Official comments from the police have not yet been received.
