Dozens of Turkey-backed Militants Destroyed in Russia's Airstrike in Idlib

On November 2, an airstrike in northwestern Syria targeting a base of the "armed opposition" resulted in the destruction of at least 35 militants backed by Turkey. The British publication The Telegraph reports that the airstrike is one of the deadliest attacks since the ceasefire established nearly eight months ago.

Yousef Hamoud, a representative of the "Syrian armed opposition," pointed out that the attack targeted a sports camp of the "Faylaq al-Sham" group located in northwestern Idlib, the last province controlled by the rebels in Syria. It is noted that the strikes were carried out by Russian aviation as a continuation of the attacks against Turkey-backed militants that began last month.

Russian strikes against Turkey-backed militants have intensified amid reports of these militants relocating to the South Caucasus to support Azerbaijan in the ongoing war in Nagorno-Karabakh.
