Death Toll from Earthquake in Turkey Reaches 98
The number of casualties from the earthquake that struck Izmir, Turkey on October 30 has reached 98. Reports indicate that nearly 1,000 people have been injured. This was reported by Ria Novosti, citing the local emergency management agency.
Rescue operations are ongoing. Earlier, it was reported that a 6.8 to 7 magnitude earthquake occurred in the western part of Turkey, with the epicenter located in the area of Seferihisar, Izmir province. The depth of the epicenter was recorded at 16.5 kilometers.
