Azerbaijanis Illegally Control Social Media Accounts of Armenian Captives: Human Rights Defender

The Human Rights Defender of Armenia continues to gather objective evidence that Azerbaijanis illegally control the passwords of social media accounts belonging to Armenian captives and begin to manage those pages.

The evidence indicates that these social media pages or accounts are activated from Azerbaijani IP (Internet Protocol) addresses, often accessing different devices such as computers, mobile phones, and iPads. This occurs on various days and times.

The study shows that hate speech continues to spread from these Armenian pages, inciting internal public and political animosity in Armenia and Artsakh, and causing tension, panic, and anxiety in society.

Therefore, exceptional caution must be exercised when using or sharing materials disseminated through social networks, verifying the authenticity of the shared content even when we personally know the account holder.
