Oil Pipeline from Iraqi Kurdistan to Turkey Blown Up

The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) has claimed responsibility for the explosion of an oil pipeline transporting crude oil to Turkey, as reported by ParsToday, citing local media from the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

The PKK declared through various outlets that its armed militants blew up the pipeline, which passes through the Baghok district of Turkey's southern Mardin province. Following the 'terrorist act' carried out early yesterday morning, the local government of Iraqi Kurdistan officially announced the incident and condemned the halt of oil exports from the region to Turkey.

According to officials in Erbil, the explosion occurred last Wednesday, and oil exports have been 'completely' suspended as a result. Iraqi media also reported on Monday morning that a large explosion occurred at a gas pipeline in southern Musanna province, resulting in at least 3 deaths and 25 injuries.
