Second Attack in France Within One Day

According to French media outlet Europe1, in the city of Avignon, a man armed with a knife shouted "Allahu Akbar" around 11:15 AM local time and attempted to stab police officers. The police opened fire and killed the assailant.

Earlier, in the city of Nice, a stabbing incident resulted in the deaths of three individuals, one of whom, according to police, was beheaded. The mayor of Nice referred to the incident as "Islamic fascism" and stated that it resembled a terrorist attack.
