There Are Instances Where Soldiers Are Rescued from Captivity, But Such Numbers Do Not Exist: Hovhannisyan on the Status of 170 Soldiers
There are no such numbers. This was stated by Artsrun Hovhannisyan, a representative of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, while addressing rumors circulating on social media about the rescue of 170 soldiers.
"There are instances; today and yesterday there have been cases where, during advances of troops, especially certain small groups or individual soldiers who may have found themselves somewhere due to the combat operations of the previous day—either trapped or lost—have been rescued and managed to come out, but there has been no talk of a large grouping; in any case, it is not a very large number," he said, adding that this war is extremely brutal.
Artsrun Hovhannisyan also noted that early in the morning, Azerbaijani armed forces had once again launched offensive operations in northern and southern directions. "More intense battles have taken place in the southern direction, during which our troops have managed to thwart several assaults from the enemy and pushed them back to their starting positions. Throughout yesterday, our Air Defense units successfully shot down several Azerbaijani UAVs, including Turkish-made drones," he stated.
He emphasized that as of now, the situation remains tense, combat operations continue, but not with the same intensity as during daylight hours. "Azerbaijani armed forces frequently infiltrate diversionary groups, small units into predominantly unlived border communities, filming there and spreading that information. This is primarily aimed at feeding their own public, but it frequently affects our society as well. The situation is stable, manageable; certain accumulations or diversionary actions do not necessarily indicate specific troop advancements or success," he said.
