NSS Reports About Websites and Pages Disseminating Misinformation Threatening the Security of Armenia and Artsakh
The National Security Service of Armenia informs that in recent times, suspiciously sourced news websites and fake social media pages (such as lurer.live and similar information platforms, along with numerous fake accounts) have emerged online. These platforms have been spreading clear misinformation particularly in recent days regarding high-ranking officials of the Republic of Armenia, individuals connected to them, former NSS Director Argishti Kyaramyan, as well as various domestic and foreign political phenomena. Besides being false, this misinformation contains significant elements and components that threaten the security of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh.
According to the press center of the NSS, preliminary investigations reveal that the aforementioned websites and information platforms exhibit various directional traces, and necessary actions are being taken in this regard.
“Despite all this, we urge our public not to give in to such information, not to spread fake information existing on such websites and various platforms, and to exclusively rely on official news sources,” the statement reads.
