Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Terrorists' Triple Alliance Persistently Ignoring Calls to Stop Bloodshed: Artsakh Foreign Ministry
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh has issued a statement regarding the ongoing attacks by Azerbaijani-Turkish forces on the peaceful population of Artsakh.
“On October 16 and in the early morning of October 17, the capital of the Republic of Artsakh, Stepanakert, as well as the city of Shushi and other localities, have been subjected to intense rocket fire by Azerbaijani-Turkish forces. As a result of this deliberate attack on civilian objects, at least six peaceful residents have been injured.
The ongoing attacks by Azerbaijani-Turkish forces on the peaceful population of the Republic of Artsakh, as well as strikes on the territory of the Republic of Armenia, testify to the aspirations of Turkey and Azerbaijan to expand the scale of military operations and increase their intensity.
In circumstances where the triple alliance of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and international terrorists persistently refuses to implement the joint statement on the humanitarian ceasefire adopted by the foreign ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan on October 10 in Moscow, as well as ignores the calls from civilised nations to stop the bloodshed, it is essential for the international community to move from words to effective actions and to apply all the tools at its disposal to stop the aggression against the people of Artsakh.
We emphasize once again that the most effective non-military means to restore peace in the region is the international recognition of the independence of the Republic of Artsakh,” the statement reads.
