Chechen Man Beheads Teacher over Mohammed Cartoon in France: TASS

Yesterday evening, an attack occurred near a school in the town of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, France, targeting a history teacher. An 18-year-old young man, reportedly of Chechen nationality, severed the woman’s throat. This information has been reported by TASS. The assailant attempted to intimidate the police, but he was shot dead by officers.

His identity has not yet been determined. According to information provided to investigators, the murdered teacher had displayed a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed during a lesson dedicated to freedom of speech held on October 5. Following this, she received numerous threats from parents of students in her class, which she reported to the police.

French President Emmanuel Macron, who arrived at the scene, described the incident as a terrorist attack. He stated, “The murdered teacher was a victim of Islamist terrorism.”
