We Held the Protest to Make Our Issue Heard Worldwide: German-Armenian
On October 16, the Armenian community in Hamburg, Germany, blocked the road leading to the port to demand recognition of Artsakh's independence and condemn Azerbaijani aggression. They successfully drew the attention of leading German media to the situation along the Artsakh-Azerbaijan contact line.
“The German press and television have been very superficial in addressing the situation at the border; there has been no discussion of Turkey’s support and mercenary terrorists. We held this protest so that not only Germany but the entire world can hear our issue. We also plan to hold similar protests in the future,” said one of the organizers, Sargis Vardanyan, in an interview with NEWS.am. He noted that the protesters chanted slogans such as 'Stop Genocide,' 'Erdogan Terrorist,' and 'Aliyev Terrorist.'
Sargis Vardanyan shared that the number of participants ranged between 250 and 300, with the protest lasting from 5 AM to 9 AM. It is noteworthy that hundreds of Armenians had also blocked major streets in various European cities throughout the day, demanding the recognition of Artsakh’s independence.
