Iran Declares it Will Not Tolerate New Strikes from Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict Zone
The authorities of Iran have stated that they will not tolerate repeated attacks on their territory by the parties involved in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This was announced on Thursday by Saeed Khatibzadeh, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic.
“In the event of such attacks being repeated, Iran will not remain indifferent,” he was quoted by the Ministry's press service. The diplomat added that ensuring the safety of Iranian citizens living in border areas is a priority for the country’s armed forces.
Earlier on Thursday, IRIB reported that eight rockets fired from the conflict zone around Nagorno-Karabakh had exploded in Iran, resulting in damage to several houses and one injury. According to IRIB, roughly 50 rockets and shells have fallen into Iranian territory during the escalation of the conflict.
