Serious Developments in Political and Diplomatic Arena
David Babayan, advisor to the President of Artsakh, commented on the statements made by the Russian Foreign Minister regarding the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, emphasizing that we are witnessing significant processes in the political and diplomatic sphere.
According to Babayan, this war presents a geopolitical challenge. Despite the agreements reached in Moscow to cease fire for humanitarian purposes, Azerbaijan is not adhering to the ceasefire.
“Militarily, we see that the adversary continues its aggressive policies and has no intention of halting its actions. Other countries, particularly the Russian Federation, which is making extensive efforts toward ending the war, are well aware of all this,” said Babayan.
The advisor to the President of Artsakh recalled that initially there were only statements and calls, followed by a meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia organized in Moscow that lasted for more than 10 hours.
“Militarily, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and terrorists continue their actions, and we saw that transformation. Initially, public figures close to the Kremlin began saying that if you do not listen to Lavrov, you should start listening to Shoigu, and that’s how it happened. Foreign Minister Lavrov announced the next day that now the Ministry of Defense is also involved in mediating the resolution of the conflict. Then Shoigu officially announced that he is working to immediately cease military operations. Afterward, we saw other steps. We saw that camps of militants located in Syria were struck, which were supposed to come to Artsakh. The processes taking place in Chechnya also serve as a signal. We saw that this process could enter another phase,” Babayan noted, emphasizing that if military operations continue after all this, it is not excluded that the President of Russia may address them with an appeal, and if there is no response, more stringent measures cannot be ruled out.
