The Process of Starting Dialogue Cannot Be Delayed: Lavrov After Meeting with Mnatsakanyan
A closed meeting between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Russia has just concluded. Following the meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced at a press conference that they exchanged thoughts behind closed doors on how to move forward.
Lavrov noted that this does not imply that all issues will be resolved quickly and simultaneously, but he added that the process of starting dialogue between the conflicting parties cannot be delayed.
Recalling the trilateral agreement reached in Moscow two days ago, Lavrov stated, “We hope that both sides will adhere to the ceasefire regime.”
“Armenia is the sole guarantor of Artsakh’s security,” said Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, emphasizing that Azerbaijan makes no distinction between military personnel and civilians.
In addition to the issue of Artsakh, the parties also discussed matters related to bilateral cooperation between Armenia and Russia.
