19-Year-Old Hero Soldier’s Home Robbed on Funeral Day After Sacrificing Life for Homeland
On October 12, a horrifying incident occurred in Yerevan. In the village of Gandzak, Gegharkunik Province, 19-year-old Narek Sargsyan, who heroically fell at the frontline of the Republic of Artsakh, was laid to rest yesterday. Although originally from Gandzak, he had been temporarily residing in the Victory neighborhood of Yerevan (4th village).
According to shamshyan.com, today the family members of the heroic soldier were left astounded when they visited their home in the 4th village. The report states that some individuals, knowing that the family was in Gavar overwhelmed with grief during the soldier's funeral, broke into the house through a window in the absence of anyone and committed theft.
Residents of the 4th village expressed their outrage in a conversation with photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, saying: “What distinguishes these scoundrels from Aliyev and Erdogan? Narek was protecting the frontline, just like many heroic Armenians who perished. Yesterday, his parents buried their child, and on that very day, their home was ransacked. Every room in the house was completely turned upside down—from the closets to the bedding. The intruders even broke Narek's small piggy bank, in which his parents had saved coins with the hope that their heroic son would return from the army, so they could organize a small celebration.”
According to the photojournalist, the police department in Malatya has been informed about the incident, and materials are being prepared in the investigative division.
