If Cargo Trucks Can't Go to Armenia from Javakheti, Then Cargo Trucks from Turkey Can't Enter Georgia Either: Akhalkalaki Residents Block Georgian-Turkish Border
Akhalkalaki residents have blocked the Georgian-Turkish border in response to the continued closure of the Georgian-Armenian border. In an interview with Tert.am, a resident of Javakheti stated that humanitarian aid cannot be sent to Armenia by cargo trucks due to the closure of the Ninotsminda checkpoint on the Georgian-Armenian border.
“In response, if cargo trucks cannot go from Javakheti to Armenia, then cargo trucks from Turkey will not be entering Georgia either. For this reason, we moved from the Ninotsminda checkpoint to the Georgian-Turkish Kartsakhi checkpoint and blocked it. The checkpoint will remain closed until the Georgian-Armenian border is reopened,” said a participant at the checkpoint.
Another citizen mentioned that the humanitarian assistance includes several cargo trucks filled with flour, potatoes, and other supplies, but after sending two trucks yesterday, they encountered obstacles again today.
