German Foreign Minister Calls on Armenia and Azerbaijan to De-escalate Tensions
Armenia and Azerbaijan must immediately cease military operations, and the crisis surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh must be resolved through peaceful diplomatic means. This was stated by German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas in a press release issued by the ministry on Sunday, as reported by TASS.
“I call on both sides of the conflict to immediately stop all combat operations. Particularly the shelling of villages and towns,” Maas said. According to him, this conflict can only be resolved “through negotiations” with the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group.
“Armenia and Azerbaijan must immediately abandon the use of force in favor of comprehensive negotiations,” Maas added.
